Description
A one-bowl wonder that’s deeply chocolatey, gooey in the center, and topped with a crackly crust—Hot Fudge Pie is the kind of comforting dessert you’ll crave on repeat.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 2 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped (or ½ cup dark chocolate chips)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- Optional Additions:
- ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- ½ teaspoon espresso powder
- 1 tablespoon bourbon or Kahlúa
- ½ cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or line with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Whisk in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla and salt.
- Add flour and stir until just combined. Fold in any optional additions now.
- Pour batter into prepared dish and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the top is set but the center still jiggles slightly.
- Cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
Notes
For extra indulgence, top with vanilla ice cream, fresh berries, or a drizzle of caramel. For a firmer texture, refrigerate and reheat slices when ready to serve.
